
🔴 Course description:
This is a free, 1.5-hour course provides insights into how citizen science may empower participants and favour democracy. It also shows practical ways of including citizen science in higher education programmes in order to instil citizen science as a common use in professional research and development activities.
This module is designed for educational decision-makers, people who make decisions about curriculum in higher schools and universities as well as people in charge of education in regional and national governments.
General knowledge of citizen science is required to participate in this course.
On the basis of a pragmatic epistemology, this module emphasizes the benefits of collective value and knowledge creation, plurality inclusion in teaching activities and learning outcomes. Our novel approach seeks to provide tools favouring the disclosure of science and scientific disciplines.
After this module, the learner is expected to be able to:
- Identify different levels of integration of participants in Citizen Science,
- Reflect on the associated benefits to empower them,
- Engage students in science and train them for their future professional and personal lives.
